JSU Awards 588 Degrees in December Commencement

Five hundred eighty-eight candidates for graduation crossed the stage to receive their degrees during Jacksonville State University’s Fall 2011 Commencement exercises at Pete Mathews Coliseum on Friday, December 16, 2011.
 
Leading the class were top graduates Lacey Alaina Gibbs of Rainbow City, Ala., who graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science (Psychology); Morgan Nicole Whetstone of Anniston, Ala., who graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science (Psychology); Chelsea Leigh Pelletier of Fort Worth, Texas, who graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts (Communication); and Amber Teague of Ohatchee, Ala., who graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science (Nursing).
 
The faculty led the processional and University President Dr. William A. Meehan presented the degrees.

The ceremony was televised live via WJXS-TV24 and broadcast regionally on several cable companies. JSU Television Services also streamed the ceremony live on the Internet.
