COVID-19 Vaccination Opportunities

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

JSU will provide another COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Tuesday, April 19, 1:30-4:30 p.m., at the University Recreation and Fitness Center. The Moderna vaccine will be available for individuals to receive first, second and third doses, as well as first and second booster doses. Reserve an appointment time by clicking on the registration button below. The clinic is free and open to the public.

Medical experts tell us that vaccinations continue to protect against severe illness and lower the risk of hospitalization. If you have not, and are medically able, please consider obtaining COVID-19 vaccinations, including the booster dose.  According to the CDC, booster shots have been proven to increase vaccine effectiveness against the Omicron variant by 40 percent. Please review the information from the CDC and consult with your doctor to ensure you are eligible and optimally protected against COVID-19.

Vaccines also continue to be available for free to students and employees at the RMC/JSU Health Center, by appointment, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1-3 p.m., by calling 256-782-5310. Vaccines.gov is another great resource that provides information on vaccines available within the community, including those from manufacturers other than Moderna.

Stay safe,

Michael Barton
Director of Public Safety and
COVID-19 Task Force Leader
