Dual Enrollment and Graduate Students

I am a Dual Enrollment Student...

Enrolled in a Dedicated Dual Enrollment Class Section numbered 200 and above

Example: EH 101 Section 202

If your instructor has selected digital materials for your course, you are automatically opted in to a first day access program that provides digital textbooks inside your Canvas course on the first day of class. 

You may access your digital textbooks following directions from your instructor. Your instructor expects you to have these textbooks for the course. 

The charge for those textbooks will be found on your student account. 

This first day access program only includes the Dedicated Dual Enrollment Classes that you are enrolled in this semester. If you are enrolled in any Regular Undergraduate Classes, you must purchase those textbooks separately. 

You may opt out of this first day access program by submitting the First Day Opt-Out Form. This will opt you out of the first day access program for all Dedicated Dual Enrollment Classes you are taking at JSU this semester.

Enrolled in a Regular Undergraduate Class Section numbered 199 and below

Example: EH 203 Section 005

If your instructor has selected digital materials for your course, you will have access to your digital textbooks inside your Canvas course until September 10. At that time, you may use the same link to purchase your digital textbook or purchase elsewhere.

You may access your digital textbooks following directions from your instructor. Your instructor expects you to have these textbooks for the course.

The charge for these textbooks will not be added to your student account because you will purchase them independently.

These Regular Undergraduate Classes will not be included in the first day access program for Dedicated Dual Enrollment Classes. If you are enrolled in any Regular Undergraduate Classes, you must purchase those textbooks separately.

Enrolled in any Class Who Needs or Wants Print Textbooks

You may rent or purchase new or used print copies of the required textbooks at the JSU Bookstore or another vendor. The textbook information is available on your syllabus and the JSU Bookstore website.

Make sure to get the correct edition. You may need to purchase additional access to any required online learning platforms, such as Hawkes, Norton Inquizitive, etc. Ask your instructor about these online learning platforms.

I am a Graduate or Doctoral Student...

Enrolled in a Graduate or Doctoral Class numbered 5000 and above

If your instructor has selected digital materials for your course, you are automatically opted in to a first day access program that provides digital textbooks inside your Canvas course on the first day of class. 

You may access your digital textbooks following directions from your professor. Your professor expects you to have these textbooks for the course. 

The charge for those textbooks will be found on your student account. 

This first day access program only includes the Graduate and Doctoral Classes that you are enrolled in this semester. If you are enrolled in any Undergraduate Classes, you must purchase those textbooks separately.

 You may opt out of this first day access program by submitting the First Day Opt-Out Form. This will opt you out of the first day access program for all Graduate and Doctoral Classes you are taking at JSU this semester.

Enrolled in an Undergraduate Class numbered 499 and below

If your instructor has selected digital materials for your course, you will have access to your digital textbooks inside your Canvas course until September 10. At that time, you may use the same link to purchase your digital textbook or purchase elsewhere. 

You may access your digital textbooks following directions from your professor. Your professor expects you to have these textbooks for the course.
