Recruitment can best be described as a mutual selection process; it gives the chapters a chance to get to know you, while helping you decide where you feel most comfortable. The experience offers a great opportunity to meet people, even if you decide that membership in a sorority or fraternity is not for you.
There is no grade requirement to go through the recruitment process, but most organizations do have a minimum Grade Point Average requirement which will be discussed once you begin the recruitment process.
Intake is the recruitment process for National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC -- historically African-American). Interest sessions and recruitment activities are held at different times during the academic year once the organization has received approval from their national organization and the Office of Student Life. The groups which participate in membership intake are Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, Zeta Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Psi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Omega Psi Phi.
