Weather Announcement: Normal Operations on Monday

02/15/2015

In consultation with the National Weather Service and the Calhoun County EMA, Jacksonville State University continues to monitor the forecast for Central Alabama on Monday, February 16. At this time, the winter weather watch for Calhoun County has been cancelled and the impact to travel is not expected to be significant as first thought.

Based upon this most recent forecast, classes at Jacksonville State University will go on as scheduled on Monday morning. All Alabama High School Athletic Association Regional Basketball tournament games at JSU will also be played as scheduled.

We will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the evening and are prepared to make further announcements should the forecast change and conditions worsen. Those who live in outlying areas are encouraged to monitor road conditions in their immediate area and use their best judgment before traveling to and from campus in the morning.

Any weather statements relevant to JSU's operations will be shared on the JSU website, via JSU E-Alert and email, through local print and broadcast media, and on the university's social media platforms. All students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to enroll in the University's Emergency Alert System.
