NSA and Homeland Security Recognize JSU as National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance

10/07/2014

The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security (NSA-DHS) have designated Jacksonville State University as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance (IA)/Cyber Security. The designation covers Fall 2014 through 2021.

A similar designation was granted by the NSA-DHS to JSU in 2009. However, this new designation requires meeting far more stringent demands in program criteria covering IA curricula and resources. This 7-year designation further validates the strength of JSU's undergraduate and graduate programs of study in cyber security.

JSU is proud to play a critical part in defending America's cyberspace. For more information or ways to get involved with JSU’s information security programs, please contact Dr. Guillermo Francia, III, director of the Center for Information Security and Assurance, at ext. 5723.
