JSU Student Life to Sponsor Glow Dash 5K for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

06/30/2014

The Jacksonville State University Office of Student Life is excited to announce the JSU GLOW DASH! This 5K event is in collaboration with the Summer Reading Program and the 2014 selection, The Fault in our Stars by John Green. The Summer Reading Program is designed to unite the freshman class through discussion and actions on a variety of relevant topics brought up by the text. The JSU Glow Run will allow opportunity for JSU students, faculty, and staff, as well as the Jacksonville and northeast Alabama communities to put action to the themes of the book. The Fault in our Stars chronicles the relationship of two young adults battling cancer, and all profit from the JSU Glow Dash will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. There will also be a penny drop before and during the run to donate to other charities that support cancer research.

The JSU Glow Dash will be August 23rd, beginning on Dillon Field on the JSU campus at 7:30. Register to run at ACTIVE.com. (Register here!) Registration is $15 now through July 22, $20 July 23-Aug 22, and $25 day of race. Registration will begin at 6:30 the day of the race. The registration fee includes a race t-shirt.

This is an event for all ages! Glow-in-the-dark supplies will be given out as a part of the registration. Come out, have fun, and help us raise money to support the Summer Reading Program and cancer research!
