JSU Civil & Human Rights Group To Hold "Stand Your Ground" Informational Event on April 2.

03/31/2014

On April 2, the Justice & Civil Rights Initiative at Jacksonville State University presents "Stand Your Ground: Your Right To Be Informed," which will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Room 101 of Merrill Hall.

This event is geared towards educating the public on exactly what "Stand Your Ground" is, and how it is applied to the laws within the state of Alabama.

Over the past two years, "Stand Your Ground" has become a household term used across the nation regarding several high profile criminal cases, yet few people know exactly what "Stand Your Ground" is.

The Justice & Civil Rights Initiative wants you to be informed on what this law means and that it does not.

Law enforcement officials will be on hand to answer questions. Other key community leaders will be speaking as well.

Please come out and exercise your right to be informed!
