Debate on Free Markets and Morality Will Be October 18 in Merrill Hall

There will be a debate, addressing the question “Is There a Moral Basis for the Free-Market?” on Friday, October 18, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in Merrill Hall Auditorium (Room 101).

Dr. James Stoner, visiting professor at Princeton University and professor at LSU, and Dr. Michael Munger, professor at Duke University, will be the speakers. Dr. Jeremiah Russell, assistant professor at JSU, will moderate the debate. There also will be a reception prior to the event from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in Merrill Hall Lobby, which will give students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to meet the speakers.  

Both are free and open to the public.

These events are sponsored by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) and the Institute for Humane Studies (IHS).
