ExSEL Car Wash Fundraiser to Benefit Child in Need of Service Dog

07/24/2013

The ExSEL students at JSU will be holding a car wash fundraiser to benefit a 7-year old little boy. He has autism, severe food allergies, seizure disorder and other medical issues. His family has been approved for a service dog through Wilderwood Service Dogs. Wilderwood is a non-profit agency that trains and places service dogs with families to help improve the quality of life for their child. For this particular child – a service dog could save his life (they are specifically trained for the child’s medical needs). The cost of a service dog is around $25,000 but the nonprofit funds a little over half and asks the family to raise $12,000 toward the cost. This family has been working hard to reach their goal and we want to help them. A service dog will be life changing for both this child and his family, please help us to help them reach their goal!
