Calhoun County Civic Chorale Winter Concert & Food Drive

On Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Church of St. Michael and All Angels, in Anniston, the Calhoun County Civic Chorale will hold its Winter Concert. The concert is entitled “A Celebration of Carols” and  Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols will be the featured work along with other music of the season. Katherine Newman of Huntsville will be the guest harpist. The Calhoun County Civic Chorale is ponsored by the David L. Walters Department of Music at Jacksonville State University. The Chorale is under the direction of JSU Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Patricia Corbin and Meg Griffin is the accompanist. The Chorale’s membership includes singers from the community as well as JSU students and faculty. 

The new JSU student chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) will be holding a food drive at this concert to benefit the Food Ministry at the Church of St. Michael and All Angels. Audience members are asked to bring donations of non perishable food items such as canned food, peanut butter and dry pasta to the concert. Donation boxes will be in the lobby.

The Church of St. Michael and All Angels is located at 1000 West 18th Street in Anniston. The concert is free and open to the public. For further information, please contact the JSU office of Choral Activities, (256) 782-5544.
