Directions to Coleman Lake Recreation Area:

Follow U.S. 78 through Heflin and turn left when it splits off from Highway 46.  Follow U.S. 78 north approximately 8 miles through the small community of Edwardsville until you see the Cane Creek Volunteer Fire Department on your right.  Take the road to your left which is County Road 61.  Follow County Road 61 until it turns into Forest Service Road 553.  (The TOTAL distance from Hwy 78 to the turn to go to Coleman Lake is 8.7 miles…that is on Road 61 and FS Road 553).

Follow 553 until you see the sign on the right which directs you to turn right toward Coleman Lake Recreation Area.  You will pass Warden Station Horse Camp on your right and take a right on the next road (Forest Service Road 500).  Once you turn on Forest Service Road 500, it’s just about a quarter of a mile to Coleman Lake Recreation Area.  Entrance will be on your right.

(It's a good little way on the Forest Service road 553, you will pass Big Oak Hunt Camp and the Shoal Creek Church before you get to the turn off for Coleman Lake to the right.  If you hit the road where it turns to a dirt/gravel road, you've gone a bit too far.  )
