On behalf of the students at Jacksonville State University, we thank all of the scholarship donors who have already established endowments and funds which help make the dreams of a college education possible for our students.

Foundation Scholarships (Annual and Endowed)

Adams (Bester A.) Memorial Scholarship: Established by Ms. Bonnie Parker in memory of her uncle, Mr. Bester A. Adams, a former teacher and mayor of Oxford, Alabama and graduate of JSU, for a deserving incoming freshman who graduated from Oxford High School in Oxford, Alabama. The student must be enrolled in the College of Education and Professional Studies.

Alabama Federated Women's Clubs International House Scholarship: Established by Alabama Federated Women's Club for the benefit of a deserving female international student who is a member of JSU's International House Program.

Alabama Power Scholarship: Established by the Alabama Power Foundation for deserving students enrolled in the College of Business and Industry who is a legal resident of the state of Alabama

Alumni Association Scholarship: Established by the JSU Alumni Association to benefit deserving full-time undergraduate students.

Amerson (Minta) Scholarship: Established in memory of Minta Amerson for students from a Fayette County high school in Alabama

Anniston Elks Lodge #189 ROTC Scholarship: The lodge established the scholarship for deserving or potential ROTC cadets. Scholarships are awarded to deserving students and potential cadets or current cadets on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

Anniston Rotary International House Scholarship: Established by the Anniston Rotary Club for the benefit of deserving students who are members of JSU's International House Program.

Arnold Memorial Scholarship: Established in honor of Dr. Herman R. Arnold, a Baptist minister for over 50 years, and his wife, Sallie C. Arnold, well-known artist and art instructor, for a deserving student from a Jacksonville or Calhoun County Baptist Church.

Arrington Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Ms. Athena Arrington, a 1954 graduate of JSU, for the benefit of a deserving senior majoring in elementary education.

Art Achievement Scholarship: Established by Dr. Karen Henricks, Mr. Marvin Shaw, Ms. Diana Cadwaller, and Mr. Gary Gee of the JSU art department for the benefit of an undergraduate student majoring in art.

Athletic Scholarship Endowment: Provides assistance through the JSU Foundation for members of the JSU athletic program

Bailey (Patricia C.) Scholarship:  Established by Kevin and Lee Callaway in memory of Patricia Bailey for a full-time senior enrolled in JSU's nursing program, demonstrating good character with potential for mentoring others.

Ballard (Neal and Sarah) Annual Scholarship: Established for the benefit of full-time undergraduate students who are graduates of White Plains High School in Calhoun County, Alabama and who demonstrate financial need.

Bannister (Chris) Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Chris Bannister for deserving students.

Barry, Hubert and Marcelline Endowed Scholarship: Established in honor of Hubert and Marcelline Barry for full-time undergraduate students who are seniors majoring in mathematics. Candidates must be entering into their senior year in the fall semester.

Beall (Thomas "Tommy") Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a full-time junior or senior enrolled in the College of Arts & Humanities who is a member of the Marching Southerners.

Beason (Penny Callahan) Annual Scholarship: Established in memory of Penny Callahan Beason for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student from St. Clair County, Alabama who is a graduate of Pell City High School and is enrolled in the College of Education and Professional Studies majoring in Elementary Education. Preference is given to a student who is a single parent. Only students who demonstrate academic aptitude shall be eligible for this award.

Belcher (David R. and Sue) Scholarship:  Established by David and Sue Belcher to benefit a U.S. citizen who is a resident of Alabama and enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student and who graduated from any school system in the State of Alabama.

Belser (Captain Donnie R.) Memorial ROTC Scholarship: Established by ROTC Class of 2001 in memory of Donnie Belser, ROTC '01, who was killed in action on February 10, 2007, while serving in combat in Iraq. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student and potential cadet or a current cadet on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

Blount (Second Lieutenant Matthew A.) Memorial ROTC Scholarship: Established by Melinda Blount in memory of her husband Matthew Blount (JSU '11; ROTC Cadet and Direct Commission USAR '12). The scholarships are awarded to deserving students and potential cadets or current cadets on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

Blount County Alumni Association Scholarship: Established by this Alumni Chapter for the benefit of deserving students from Blount County.

Bolt (A.W.) Scholarship: Established by Birmingham attorney A.W. Bolt, this scholarship is for the benefit of deserving students.

Boozer (David) Scholarship: Established by Mr. S. David Boozer, an Anniston architect, for a deserving student.

Boozer (James and Ethel) ROTC Scholarship: Established by James Boozer (JSU '58 and wife Ethel. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student and potential cadet or a current cadet on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

Borstorff, Dr. Pat Music Scholarship: Established by Dr. Pat Borstorff for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who exhibits an unusually high degree of musical talent and outstanding potential through an instrumental audition. The student must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Borstorff, Dr. Pat Scholarship: Established by Dr. Pat Borstorff for the benefit of a full-time junior or senior student majoring in art with an overall institutional GPA of 3.0 and a 3.5 GPA in their major. The student must have completed 32 semester hours, and exhibit a strong work ethic as well as an exceptional artistic ability as recognized by the committee.

Bragg (Margaret) Scholarship: Established in honor of Mrs. Margaret Bragg by her son Rick Bragg, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, for a full-time undergraduate student who is a graduate of any high school in Calhoun County, Alabama and who has a concentration in english.

Brown (Chuck and Lisa) Scholarship: Established by Chuck and Lisa Brown for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who is from Marshall County, enrolled in the College of Business and Industry and attained a "B" or higher average.

Brown, Madonna Kay and Barry E. Penny Annual Scholarship: Established by Madonna Kay Brown and Barry E. Penny for the benefit of a senior student who is an athlete of any sport who is nearing graduation. Only students who are seniors, no longer receiving athletic scholarship dollars, and demonstrate academic aptitude shall be eligible for this award.

Bryant, LTC Derrick B. Scholarship: Established by LTC Derrick B. Bryant for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who is a graduate of Huffman High School in Birmingham, Alabama (if there are no applicants available, priority will go to Woodlawn High School or Ramsey High School graduates). Students must be a first or second generation college applicant, completed at least one year of high school ROTC or football, and must have a minimum 2.7 GPA.

Buckner, Briaunna Scholarship: Established for a deserving full-time undergraduate or graduate student with an interest in promoting diversity in the legal profession or through public policy. A 500-word essay must be completed explaining how your background and goals will add to the legal profession, or how you plan to promote diversity in the legal field. A resume and cover letter will also be required.

Burger King/Ingram Scholarship: Established in honor of Mr. John Ingram, former offensive lineman for JSU's football team. Mr. Ingram was named one of Burger King's scholar-athletes during 1995.

Burke (Golden) Scholarship:  Established through a bequest of Golden Burke to benefit deserving students majoring in education with preference to those students concentrating in the field of guidance.

Bush (Newbern) Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Newbern Bush, a retired faculty member who taught mathematics. The scholarship is to be awarded to a full-time, native-born Alabama undergraduate student who has attained junior status and is majoring in mathematics.

Buttram (Judge H. Dean, Jr.) Scholarship: Established by Judge H. Dean Buttram, Jr. for the benefit of juniors or seniors majoring in political science, history, psychology, sociology, english, business, or criminal justice.

Calhoun (Charles and Doris) Scholarship: Established by the family of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Calhoun for the benefit of a deserving full-time junior or senior student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and admitted to the College of Education and Professional Studies with preference to elementary education majors.

Calhoun County Alumni Association Scholarship: Established by this Alumni Chapter for the benefit of deserving students from Calhoun County.

Calhoun County Medical Alliance Society Scholarship: An annual scholarship established by the Calhoun County Medical Alliance Society to benefit a junior or senior student enrolled in the College of Health Professions and Wellness who plans to practice nursing in Calhoun County upon completion of their degree. Restricted to students who have been accepted into JSU's Nursing Program.

Calhoun/Cleburne County Bar Association (CCCBA) Scholarship: Established by the Calhoun/Cleburne County Bar Association for the benefit of a deserving, full-time undergraduate student who is a junior majoring in criminal justice. Preference will be given to a student from the Calhoun/Cleburne County area.

Callaway (Steve) Annual Scholarship: Established by Steve Callaway for the benefit of a full-time junior or senior undergraduate student who demonstrates academic aptitude. The student must be an active member of the Marching Southerners Percussion Line. Preference will be given to a cymbal player or cymbalist. The student must have completed a minimum of 2 years as a member of the Marching Southerners. The student is not required to be a music major or minor. There will be one scholarship awarded each Fall and Spring semester.

Capital Planning and Facilities Scholarship: Established by members of the University's Physical Plant for the benefit of its employees and families.

Carter (Katie Beth) Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Katie Beth Carter for the benefit of full-time undergraduate students who are members of the Marching Southerners with a minimum 3.0 GPA. One student from the Ballerina line and one student who is a Marching Southerner (to include: Winds, Percussion, and Colorguard) will be chosen for this award. To be eligible for the scholarship, the candidates will submit an essay to the Band Scholarship Committee. The essay topic will be: Katie Beth had a passion for life that was contagious and she served and loved others well. How have you modeled living and loving well and/or plan on doing so in the future?

Chambers Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students: Established by Nancy L. Chambers for the benefit of a full-time graduate or undergraduate student who is at least 24 years old. The scholarship is available for multiple semesters for recipients who maintain a minimum 3.0-grade point average.  

Chemistry Department Scholarship: Established by members of the JSU Department of Chemistry for the benefit of a deserving junior or senior majoring in chemistry.

Cherokee County Alumni Association Scholarship: Established by this Alumni Chapter for the benefit of deserving students from Cherokee County.

Clark (Louise Rhodes) Scholarship: Established by Dr. Louise Rhodes Clark who retired in 1982 as the Head of the Home Economics department. The scholarship will benefit deserving students enrolled in the Family and Consumer Sciences program.

Cole (Leone) Memorial Scholarship: Established by the Jacksonville Book Club in memory of Mrs. Leone Pruett Cole. Mrs. Cole, the former wife of JSU President Dr. Houston Cole, died in 1949. The scholarship will benefit deserving full-time incoming freshmen.

Collins Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Mr. John H. Collins, a former JSU faculty member in the Department of Accounting. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student majoring in accounting.

Comfort (Captain Kyle A.) Memorial ROTC Scholarship:  Established by the family of Kyle Comfort and the ROTC Classes of 2005-06 in memory of Kyle Comfort, ROTC '06, who was killed in action on May 8, 2010, while serving in combat in Afghanistan. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student and potential cadet or a current cadet on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

Comfort (Captain Kyle A.) Memorial Foundation Scholarship: Established in memory of Captain Kyle Comfort for a deserving full-time undergraduate student who is Active Duty, a veteran with an honorable discharge, or have an immediate family member who is currently serving or has been honorably discharged from U.S. military service.

Copeland (Rex) Memorial Scholarship: Established by Emilea Copeland in memory of Rex Copeland, whose legacy was his joy of life. The scholarship will benefit incoming juniors who are graduates of a high school in Jefferson County, Alabama.

Coplin Scholarship: Established by William Coplin, Jr. for deserving full-time undergraduate students who are a graduate of Demopolis High School or any graduate of a public school in West Alabama.

Cornutt, Julie Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Julie Cornutt for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who is accepted and enrolled in the Respiratory Therapy program. Preference will be given to students from Etowah County, Alabama..

Cottingham (Harry and Jean) Scholarship:  Recipient shall be an undergraduate student with 32 or more hours completed and be in good standing, preferably accepted to the College of Education and Professional Studies and majoring in math or science.

Cox (Christopher) Memorial Scholarship: Established by Mr. Richard Mayfield in memory of his roommate and Sigma Nu fraternity brother.

Crews (Joey) Art Scholarship: Established by Joey Crews for a deserving full-time undergraduate junior or senior majoring in art.

Criminal Justice Alumni Scholarship: Established by this alumni chapter for the benefit of deserving students majoring in criminal justice.

Curley Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Mr. Andrew Curley to provide support for an upper-class student in education.

Currie, Johnathan Tyler Memorial Scholarship: Established by Mr. Kenneth and Mrs. Charlene Clifton Currie in memory of their son, Johnathan Tyler Currie, for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who is a graduate of a Calhoun County high school. The scholarship will be limited to students with a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Daugette Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Colonel Clarence W. Daugette, Jr., a former member and Chairman of the Jacksonville State University Board of Trustees, for the benefit of deserving international students participating in the University's International House Program.

Dedrick (Thomas and Angelita) Scholarship: Established by Thomas and Angelita Dedrick for the benefit of students who are a graduate of a public high school in Hale County, Alabama. Students must also have attained a 3.0 or higher GPA in high school in order to be considered.

DeKalb County Alumni Scholarship: Established by this alumni chapter for the benefit of deserving students from DeKalb County.

Dempsey Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Mrs. Sharon Dempsey who, at the time of her death, taught in the Department of Mathematics. Recipients of this scholarship will be restricted to mathematics or mathematics education majors who have attained at least junior status. Applicants must have completed at least thirty (30) hours of their education at Jacksonville State University.

Dryden Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Mr. Robert C. Dryden for the benefit of deserving full-time undergraduate or graduate students.

DuBois (LTC Gary and Angela) Scholarship: Established by LTC Gary and Angela DuBois for deserving full-time undergraduate students who are graduates of Elkmont High School, demonstrates high financial need as determined by FAFSA and is a U.S. citizen. Students must have maintained a 3.0 GPA or above at Elkmont High School or at JSU. Special consideration will be given to an applicant who is committed to enroll in the ROTC program at JSU. Consideration will also be given to students who have demonstrated consistent discipline and responsibility through participation in school athletics and/or work experience and/or community service.

Duncan (Dr. John E.) Scholarship: Established by Dr. John E. Duncan of Gadsden, Alabama, for the benefit of a deserving full-time undergraduate student from Etowah County.

Edwards Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of A.D.(Gus) Edwards, former Dean of Men, for the benefit of a deserving member of the Kappa Alpha Order

Elite Letterman's Club ROTC Scholarship: The club, comprised of members from ROTC classes of 1979-1983, established this scholarship for deserving or potential ROTC cadets. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student and potential cadet or a current cadet on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

Elliott Scholarship: Established through a bequest of Mrs. Marve P. Elliott of Piedmont, Alabama, to honor her husband, Mr. Joseph Walter Elliott for deserving students.

Etowah County Alumni Association Scholarship: Established by this Alumni Chapter for the benefit of deserving students from Etowah County.

Exchange Club of Jacksonville Scholarship: An annual scholarship established by the Exchange Club of Jacksonville, Alabama for the benefit of a deserving, entering freshman from the Jacksonville community.

Farmers and Merchants Bank Scholarship: Established by the Farmers & Merchants Bank of Piedmont for the benefit of a deserving student from Piedmont, Alabama.

Finance and Administration Scholarship: Established for a JSU employee or a dependent of a JSU Finance and Administration employee who is in good academic standing at JSU.

Finley (Drs. Wayne and Sara) Scholarship: Established by Drs. Wayne and Sara Finley of Birmingham, Alabama, to benefit undergraduate students from the Alabama counties of Clay, Coosa, or Randolph. Preference will be given to students majoring in mathematics or science, either pre-professional or secondary education. Only juniors or seniors with at least a "B" average will be eligible for the scholarship.

Finley (Nile Borden) Scholarship: Established in memory of Nile Borden Finley, a Calhoun County, Alabama elementary school teacher, for the benefit of a full-time junior or senior from Calhoun County majoring in elementary education with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Floyd (Marjorie) Scholarship: Established through a bequest of Ms. Marjorie Floyd to benefit descendants of her father, Mr. Bufford N. Floyd. If there are no applications from descendants, then the scholarship will be open to members of the First Baptist Church of Centre, Alabama who plan to pursue a career in teaching, medicine, religion, law, engineering, or business.

Ford Scholarship: Established by Joe and Brenda Ford of Gadsden, Alabama for the benefit of a deserving full-time undergraduate student from Etowah County who has not received a complete scholarship or complete aid from other sources.

Fort McClellan Credit Union ROTC Scholarship: The Credit Union established this scholarship for deserving or potential ROTC cadets. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student and potential cadet or a current cadet on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

G.L. Smith and Associates Annual Scholarship: Established for a full-time student who is employed for at least 30 hours per week and must have at least one child. Preference is given to a first-generation college student. 

Gadsden Music Company Scholarship: Established by the Gadsden Music Company, Inc., for the benefit of a child or grandchild of a former Marching Southerner wind or percussion player. The recipient shall be a fourth-year wind or percussion member of the Southerners.

Gamble (Linda Gail Waldrop) Scholarship: Established by Charles Gamble in honor of his wife, Gail, to benefit a deserving full-time undergraduate enrolled in the College of Education and Professional Studies.

Garner Scholarship: Established by Mr. Tim Garner to benefit a deserving incoming freshman student from Cherokee County High School.

Georgia Alumni Scholarship: Established to provide needed assistance for students from the state of Georgia.

Gibbins Nursing Scholarship: Established by the Calhoun County Medical Society to honor Dr. George W. Gibbins of Anniston, Alabama for his enlightened and dedicated leadership and service to his community and its citizens. Restricted to students who have been accepted into JSU's Nursing Program.

Greater Birmingham Area Alumni Scholarship: Established by the alumni chapter for the benefit of deserving students from the Greater Birmingham area. Candidates must be from one of the following Alabama counties to be considered for this scholarship: Jefferson, Shelby, and St. Clair.

Greater Huntsville Area Alumni Scholarship: Established by this alumni chapter for the benefit of deserving students from Madison County, AL.

Greater Rome Area Alumni Scholarship: Established by this alumni chapter for the benefit of deserving students from the Greater Rome, Georgia area. Candidates must be from one of the following Georgia counties to be considered for this scholarship: Floyd, Bartow, Polk, and Chattooga.

Greater Washington DC Area Alumni Scholarship: Established by this alumni chapter for the benefit of deserving students from the Greater Washington DC area.

Greer and Rushing (Ester and Hester) Scholarship: Established by Harold Greer and Franklin Greer in the name of their mother, Ester Greer, and sister, Hester Rushing for the benefit of a deserving full-time undergraduate student who is enrolled in the College of Education and Professional Studies and is a resident of Alabama.

Griffith-Lavender Scholarship: Established by Dr. Martha Griffith Lavender for full-time students pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing (may be pre-nursing students pursuing a general studies requirements or a student enrolled in courses in the upper division of nursing). Students must be a transfer from Gadsden State Community College.

Hale (David F.) Scholarship: Established by David F. Hale for the benefit of a deserving student who is a brother of the Delta Chi fraternity.

Hallman Scholarship: Established in honor of Charlie and Edith Hallman for the benefit of deserving incoming freshmen who are graduates of Guntersville High School.

Hamric (Grace) Scholarship: Established by Grace Hamric in memory of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hamric for the benefit of a deserving incoming freshman who is a graduate of Jacksonville High School.

Hardy (Ben and Linda) Business Scholarship: Established by Ben and Linda Hardy for a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the College of Business and Industry. Only students who demonstrate academic aptitude and financial need shall be eligible for this award.

Haskins (Colonel George D.) Memorial ROTC Scholarship: Established by COL (R) William E. Cline, ROTC Class of '67, in honor of COL George D. Haskins who served as JSU ROTC Professor of Military Science during the period of 1965-1968. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student and potential cadet or a current cadet on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military.  

Heathcock (Colonel James (Jim) T.) Memorial ROTC Endowed Scholarship: Established as an endowed scholarship by John H. Heathcock, ROTC '65, in memory of his brother Jim Heathcock, ROTC '52, who served 27 years on active military duty. The number of scholarships may vary. The scholarships are awarded to deserving students and potential cadets or current cadets on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

Henricks (Karen Peterson) Annual Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a deserving full-time, undergraduate student who is a rising senior in good academic standing and who is pursuing a minor in art history. Special consideration will be given to a student who plans to pursue a graduate degree in art history.

Higginbotham Scholarship: Established by the family of Ms. Miriam Jackson Higginbotham who was the Dean of Women at JSU for many years.

Hill (Ed) Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of William Edward (Ed) Hill, a longtime photographer for Jacksonville State University. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who either has an interest in photography or wants to pursue a career in photojournalism.

Holaway (Gary and Sandra) Scholarship: Established by Mrs. Sandra Holaway in memory of her husband Gary, a former member of the Marching Southerners and Past President of the Gray Echelon. The recipient will be selected by the JSU Marching Band Director, must be a full-time undergraduate student who is a member of the Marching Southerners, and is enrolled in the College of Education and Professional Studies majoring in early childhood or elementary education. Preferences will be given to students from Alabama counties of Calhoun or Walker or members of the Trombone section of the Marching Southerners. Only students who demonstrate academic aptitude and march in the fall semester will be eligible for this award.

Hopper, Jack Scholarship: Established in memory of Jack Hopper, Vice President Emeritus of JSU, for deserving students.

Howell (Ken and Jenny) Annual Scholarship:  Established by Ken and Jenny Howell for any full-time undergraduate students that graduated from any Calhoun County High School and must have attained a "B" or higher average score on grades 9 through 11. Students must be pursuing a major in accounting and also be a Cadet of the JSU ROTC program with accounting being the first preference. If no one meets the requirements in the previous sentence, then the scholarship will be awarded to students majoring in accounting from a Calhoun County High School. 

Howell (Ken and Jenny) Oxford High School Scholarship: Established by Ken and Jenny Howell to benefit incoming freshmen who are graduates of Oxford High School in Oxford, Alabama. Students must be undecided management majors who plan to go into accounting. Preference is given to a dual/accelerated enrollment student at JSU while attending Oxford High School with a minimum 3.5 GPA for the accelerated/dual enrollment courses.

Howell (Ken and Jenny) Endowed Scholarship:  Established by Ken and Jenny Howell for any full-time undergraduate students that graduated from any Calhoun County High School and must have attained a "B" or higher average score on grades 9 through 11. Students must be pursuing a major in accounting and also be a Cadet of the JSU ROTC program with accounting being the first preference. If no one meets the requirements in the previous sentence, then the scholarship will be awarded to students majoring in accounting from a Calhoun County High School. 

Ingram Memorial Scholarship: Established by the family of Mr. Stanton B. Ingram for the benefit of deserving students who are members of JSU's International House Program.

Jenkins, Julian Scholarship: Established by Mr. Julian Jenkins, a former Anniston architect, for a sophomore student or above with a designated major in art, who has demonstrated, in the opinion of the art faculty, exceptional creative ability and dedication to the arts.

Johnson (J.C.U.) Scholarship: Established by Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lloyd Johnson in memory of her husband. The scholarship will benefit deserving full-time undergraduate or graduate students from any high school in Calhoun County, Alabama. 

Johnson (Loaz and Maybeth) Scholarship:  Established through a trust agreement by Dr. Loaz W. Johnson to assist deserving students.

Jones (James H. and Myra Hume) Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Dr. James H. Jones and Myra Hume Jones by former members of the International House Program, friends, associates, and children of Dr. and Mrs. Jones. Award of the scholarship will be made to a full-time undergraduate student who is a member in good standing of the International House Program.

JSU Alumni Association Scholarship: An endowed scholarship established by JSU's National Alumni Association for the benefit of deserving students.

JSU Faculty Women's Club of Jacksonville Scholarship: Established by the Faculty Women's Club of Jacksonville State University for the benefit of a deserving young woman from Calhoun County.

Justice Scholarship: Established to honor Karen A. Justice ('93) upon her graduation from Jacksonville State University by family friends, Bill and Liz Roberts of Birmingham, Alabama. This scholarship is for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who is a senior enrolled in the College of Health Professions and Wellness in JSU's Nursing Program.

Kendrick (Mr. and Mrs. Steve) Scholarship: Established for deserving College of Business and Industry students pursuing a degree in management or accounting who are residents of the state of Alabama, and who graduated from an Alabama high school.

Kennamer Academic Scholarship: Established by Bob and Lou Kennamer of Anniston, Alabama for a deserving undergraduate student. A minimum GPA of 3.0, as well as financial need, will be considered. Mr. Kennamer is a trustee emeritus of Jacksonville State University.

Killebrew (Katherine R.) Scholarship:  Established by estate gift for a student pursuing a degree in education.

King (Patricia M.) Scholarship: Established in honor of Patricia M. King for the benefit of deserving full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in the College of Business and Industry as business majors.

King Memorial Scholarship: An annual scholarship established by the Greater Anniston Business and Professional Association through proceeds from the Sunny King Charity Golf Classic. The scholarship, established in memory of Mr. E. D. "Sunny" King, Jr., benefits a deserving full-time undergraduate student from Calhoun County.

King Toyota Entrepreneurial Scholarship: Established in memory of Mr. E. D. "Sunny" King, Jr., a prominent Calhoun County automobile dealer, by Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc., and Southeast Toyota Distributors, Inc., for the benefit of a deserving full-time undergraduate student in the College of Business & Industry.

Knighton Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Ms. Audrey Knighton to benefit Social Work majors during the field instruction phase.

Lambda Gamma of Kappa Sigma Memorial Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate or graduate student that must be in good standing with the JSU Lambda Gamma Chapter.

Lawler Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Ms. Carol L. Lawler by her family and friends for the benefit of a student in the College of Health Professions and Wellness.

Ledbetter Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Ms. Doris Ledbetter, a Calhoun County educator, by her sisters and the benefit of a student majoring in either education or nursing. Restricted to students who have been accepted into JSU's Nursing Program.

Ledbetter, Lilly Scholarship:  Established by donors to honor Lilly Ledbetter and promote the education of deserving full-time undergraduate students enrolled at Jacksonville State University who have a 2.5 high school GPA or higher and who demonstrate financial need.

Lewis (Aaron H.) Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Mr. Aaron H. Lewis for a deserving male and female student from Cherokee County, AL

Lewis (Gary O.) Scholarship: Established by Gary O. Lewis for a deserving full-time junior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher who graduated from Gadsden City High (Etowah County, AL). 

LGBTQ+ Alumni Chapter Annual Scholarship: Sponsored by the JSU LGBTQ+ Alumni Chapter, the LGBT Scholarship is open to a deserving first-time, continuing, or graduate student at Jacksonville State University who is dedicated to diversity and inclusion and shows characteristics of someone who supports the LGBT community through involvement in clubs, organizations, volunteerism, and/or activism. A cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 for undergraduate students and a 3.0 for graduate students, based on a 4.0 scale, is required.

Lindsey Scholarship: Established by Mr. Billy S. Lindsey of Anniston, Alabama for the benefit of a deserving student.

Lovett Scholarship: Established by Mr. Opal R. and Ms. Opal A. Lovett for a deserving student majoring in History, English, or Art who has achieved sophomore or above status. Mr. Lovett was the University's Photographer prior to his retirement. Ms. Lovett taught in the English Department prior to her retirement. Ms. Lovett is an Emeriti Faculty Member.

Lowery Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Ms. Mary L. Lowery for a deserving entering freshman enrolled in Family & Consumer Sciences.

Lyle, Jack and Tracy Endowed Scholarship: Established for a deserving full-time undergraduate student who is enrolled in a program within the Applied Engineering department. Only students who demonstrate academic aptitude shall be eligible for this award.

Ma, Mr. & Mrs. Yun-Jye Endowed Memorial Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who has been accepted into the BSN program. The student must be an international student with a minimum 3.0 GPA with community service in order to be considered. The scholarship is renewable for 1 year given that the student maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA. Mr. and Mrs. Yun-Jye Ma valued education highly and were firm believers of lifelong learning. Mr. Ma, a physicist, taught physics in higher education for years in Taiwan, Republic of China (ROC), was well respected by his colleagues and friends professionally and in day-to-day life. Mrs. Ma, Wen-Ching Wu was trained in nursing and worked all her life as a nurse and later a nurse educator. She was beloved and respected by her co-workers: nurses, doctors, fellow teachers, and students. Together, they believed that education can and does make a difference for the better in people's lives, in community, and in the world. They always encouraged their 3 children to expand their horizons, see the world, and seize the opportunity to learn at every chance they get. 

Manes Memorial Scholarship: Established through a trust agreement from the Agnes McIntyre Manes Foundation to assist deserving students.

Mann, John and Marie Annual Science and Sports Scholarship: Established to promote the education of deserving full-time junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled and majoring in a program within the College of Science and Mathematics. Students must be a member of the tennis, golf, rifle, track and field, or cross country teams or another individual sport at Jacksonville State University.

Manners Scholarship: Established by Mr. Lee and Ms. Jetta Manners for the benefit of deserving full-time students who are juniors majoring in Art. Ms. Manners worked in the Office of Admissions and Records until her retirement. Mr. Manners was Head of the Department of Art when he retired. Mr. Manners is an Emeriti Faculty Member.

Marshall County Alumni Scholarship: Established for the benefit of full-time undergraduate students who are residents of Marshall County.

Martin (Don B. and Margaret Ann) Scholarship:  Established by Mr. and Mrs. Don B. Martin for the benefit of a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student that is a graduate of Mount Paran School in Cobb County, Georgia.

Masters (Carolyn F.) Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Carolyn F. Masters for the benefit of a deserving full-time undergraduate student who is a graduate of a high school located in St. Clair County and is majoring in music. 

Mathews Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Charles T. "Pete Mathews" for the benefit of students from Clay County, Alabama.

Maxwell, Virginia Ihrie Scholarship: Established in honor of Virginia Ihrie Maxwell for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate junior or senior with a minimum GPA of 2.5. The student must be a graduate of a high school in North Carolina.

McBride (First Lieutenant Grady E., III) Memorial ROTC Scholarship: Established by ROTC Classes of 1967-1969 in memory of Grady McBride, ROTC '68, who was killed in an enemy attack on June 5, 1970, while serving in combat in Vietnam. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student and potential cadet or a current cadet on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

McClendon, Eloise Scholarship: Established by Ms. Eloise McClendon for full-time, deserving students.

McCormick (Dr. Michael B.) Scholarship: Established for a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at JSU for the fall/spring academic year. The student must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or Mathematics with a minimum 3.0 GPA overall. The student should be entering at least their sophomore year to be awarded and must also submit a FAFSA. Past recipients may re-apply each year and their applications will be considered together with other first-time applicants.

McCormick (Mrs. Martha C.) Scholarship: Established for a full-time undergraduate student enrolled at JSU for the fall/spring academic year. McCullars (Mr. and Mrs. H.L.) Scholarship: Established for the benefit of full-time undergraduate students who are graduates of Ohatchee High School who demonstrate financial need and has a minimum 3.0 GPA.

McNabb (Captain Jerry W.) Memorial ROTC Scholarship: Established by the ROTC Class of 1959 and wife Anne McNabb, in memory of Jerry McNabb, ROTC '59, who was killed in a helicopter accident on June 27, 1966, while serving in combat in Vietnam. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student and potential cadet or a current cadet on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

McNair (Nicole Cannon) Memorial Nursing Scholarship:  Established by Dr. Robert and Mrs. Michelle Holland Garver '09 in memory of Nicole Cannon McNair '03 to benefit a full-time student enrolled in the College of Health Professions and Wellness in nursing. Preference will be given to a student who is a graduate of Wellborn High School or Weaver High School in Calhoun County, Alabama. If there are no candidates from those two high schools, the next selection will be to a student who is a graduate of a Calhoun County high school.

McSpadden Scholarship: Established by Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McSpadden, in honor of Mr. McSpadden, JSU Professor Emeritus, for deserving science education majors.

McWhorter (Earlon and Betty) Scholarship: Established by Earlon and Betty McWhorter of Anniston, Alabama for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate or graduate student. Undergraduate recipients must have attained junior or senior status. Only students who demonstrate academic aptitude and who have demonstrated involvement in campus functions and organizations will be eligible for this scholarship.

Meehan (Dr. and Mrs. William A.) Scholarship: Established in honor of Dr. and Mrs. William A. Meehan, President Emeritus and former first lady of JSU, for full-time undergraduate (sophomore, junior, or senior status) or graduate students enrolled in the College of Science and Mathematics who have a declared major in Biology with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students must have demonstrated involvement in campus leadership activities and must also have a recommendation from one faculty member of the Biology department.
 
Miles (Larry) Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Dr. Lawrence R. Miles, a long-time Dean of Admissions, for the benefit of deserving students.

Miller (Bill) Photography Memorial Scholarship:  Established in memory of Mr. Bill Miller to promote the education of a deserving full-time, incoming first-time freshman student graduating from an Alabama high school with a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.0. 

Miller (Captain Richard C. (Charlie)) Memorial ROTC Endowed Scholarship:  Established as an endowed scholarship by John H. Heathcock, ROTC '65, and wife Jan in memory of Richard "Charlie" Miller, ROTC '65, who was killed in action on September 3, 1969, while serving in combat in Vietnam. The scholarships are awarded to deserving students and potential cadets or current cadets on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

Miller (Ken) Memorial Scholarship:  Established in memory of Ken Miller to benefit a minimum half-time undergraduate junior or above or graduate student enrolled in science, technology, engineering, or math; who is an Alabama resident or qualifies for in-state tuition.

Moersch Nursing Scholarship: Named in honor of Dr. Barbara L. Moersch of Jacksonville, Alabama by family and friends for the benefit of a deserving upper-level student majoring in nursing.

Moersch Scholarship: Established in honor of Dr. Robert and Ms. Eloise Moersch by family and friends for the benefit of a deserving upper-level student majoring in finance or economics.

Montgomery Scholarship: Established in honor of Dr. Theron E. Montgomery, President Emeritus of JSU, for the benefit of deserving students with preference to those who have a sensory impairment.

Mr. and Mrs. Yun-Jye Ma Memorial Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who has been accepted into the BSN program. Students must be international with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and participate in community service in order to be considered. The scholarship is renewable for one year as long as a minimum 3.0 GPA is being maintained.

Music Genesis Scholarship: Established for undergraduate students majoring in music who are the first from their immediate family (parents and grandparents) to attend a higher-education institution and who presents a positive attitude for other music majors to model. Record of service to the music department must be present. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0 or equivalent high school ranking/ACT score for freshmen. Applicants must also provide a recommendation from a primary applied teacher and faculty in general. Freshman may submit a letter of recommendation from their high school music teacher.  

Music Legacy Scholarship: Established for undergraduate students majoring in music who has a parent or grandparent that graduated from JSU (any major) and who presents a positive attitude for other music majors to model. Record of service to the music department must be present. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0 or equivalent high school ranking/ACT score for freshmen. Applicants must also provide a recommendation from a primary applied teacher and faculty in general. Freshman may submit a letter of recommendation from their high school music teacher. 

Nabors (Wallace A.) Scholarship: Established by Dr. Alice and Mr. Greg Cusimano for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who is a graduate of Glencoe High School, Etowah County, Alabama; must be admitted to the College of Education and Professional Studies with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Nixon (Alethea) Marshall County Alumni Scholarship: Established in memory of Ms. Alethea Nixon who was killed when the tanker truck she was riding in, en route to a fire, went off a bridge. The scholarship is for the benefit of a junior or senior who graduated from Marshall County High School, or a transfer from Snead State Community College, who is majoring in emergency management.

Noell Alumni Gamecock Scholarship: Established for the benefit of one incoming freshman student from St. Clair County High School. The student must be of good character (deemed by school administration) and has been involved in one or more of the following school activities for at least one year: football, ROTC, SGA or Yearbook. The scholarship is renewable for a second year, and the student must be full-time.

Northeast Alabama Military Officer Association (MOAA) ROTC Scholarship: The association established this scholarship for a deserving or potential ROTC cadet. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student and potential cadet or a current cadet on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

Nursing Alumni Chapter Scholarship: Established by this alumni chapter for the benefit of deserving students majoring in Nursing. Restricted to students who have been accepted into JSU's Nursing Program.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Theta Eta Chapter Scholarship: Established by the Theta Eta Chapter to promote the education of a deserving full-time freshman or sophomore undergraduate student.

Pachoud (Manila Henegar Brooks) Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a deserving student enrolled in the College of Education and Professional Studies.

Page (John G.): Established by Mr. John G. "Jack" Page for the benefit of a deserving member of the JSU Rifle team.

Parker II Scholarship: Established by DentaQuest for the benefit of a rising senior in the College of Business and Industry majoring in Marketing, Management, or Accounting. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be eligible. 

Parker Scholarship: Established by Mr. Jeffrey A. Parker for the benefit of a rising senior in the College of Business and Industry majoring in Marketing, Management, or Accounting. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be eligible. 

Peacock (Bill and Catherine) Scholarship: Established by Catherine Peacock for the benefit of a deserving full-time incoming freshman enrolled in the College of Education and Professional Studies from the state of Georgia or Alabama.

Peacock Freshman Scholarship:  Recipient shall be an academically-superior incoming freshman from the state of Georgia or Alabama.

Pearce, Bevill, Leesburg & Moore Scholarship: Established by the Birmingham accounting firm for a deserving upper-level student majoring in accounting.

Pell Scholarship: Established in honor of Mr. Charley Pell, former JSU head football coach, by his former players and friends. The scholarship benefits children or grandchildren of former players that were coached by Charley Pell at JSU.

Peoples (Toby M.) Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a first-time freshman enrolled as a full-time student. One student from each of the eight high schools in Blount County shall be eligible for this award.

Phi Beta Kappa Association Scholarship: Established by the Northeast Alabama Phi Beta Kappa Association for the benefit of a deserving upper-class student.

Piedmont Alumni Scholarship: Established for the benefit of deserving students from Piedmont, Alabama.

Pinkard (Chuck) Endowed Scholarship: Established in memory of Charles E. Pinkard for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has been a part of the golf team at Jacksonville State University.

Political Science Department Scholarship: Established by faculty of the JSU Department of Political Science for the benefit of a student majoring in political science.

Prater Music Scholarship: Established for full-time undergraduate junior or senior status students enrolled in the College of Arts and Humanities, specifically in the David L. Walters Department of Music. Preference will be given to students who are graduates of Austin High School in Decatur, Alabama.

Price-Montgomery (WJSU-TV) Scholarship: Established by Anniston Broadcasting Company, Inc., for the benefit of deserving students enrolled in the Department of Communications.

Pritchett (Sherron McCullars) Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a student from Alexandria High School who demonstrates financial need.

Reaves Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Dr. James A. Reaves, former Vice President for Academic Affairs, for the benefit of a deserving student.

Regions Bank Annual Scholarship II: Established by Regions Bank for a full-time entering freshman student from a high school in the State of Alabama and who is enrolled as a pre-business major.

Regions Bank Annual Scholarship: Established by Regions Bank for a full-time entering freshman student from a high school in the State of Alabama and who is enrolled as a pre-business major.

Reid (Marcus and Jean) Scholarship:  Established by Marcus and Jean Reid for the benefit of a deserving full-time undergraduate student from Jacksonville High School, Anniston High School, or Bob Jones High School.

Renfroe Founders Scholarship: Sponsored by the Student Alumni Association of the JSU National Alumni Association, the SAA Leadership Scholarship is open to a current dues-paying member of the SAA who is in the top 20% of point earners for the current academic year. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale is required. In addition to the General JSU Scholarship application, this scholarship requires additional information. Rhodes (Janis C.) Memorial Scholarship:  Established in memory of Mrs. Janis Calhoun Rhodes by her husband, Dr. Earl E. "Gene" Rhodes. The recipient must be a drama major, must be at the junior or senior level, and have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Richey (Tom and Freda) Scholarship: Established in honor of Mr. Tom Richey for the benefit of a deserving full-time incoming freshman who is a graduate of Guntersville High School majoring in elementary or secondary education.

Roberts (Dr. William T.) Memorial Annual Scholarship: Established in memory of Dr. William T. Roberts for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the College of Education and Professional Studies' Family and Consumer Sciences Department with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Only students studying nutrition, dietetics and/or culinary arts and who demonstrate academic aptitude shall be eligible for this award.

Robinson (Ernest) Scholarship: Established by Ernest Robinson for the benefit of a deserving student majoring in education or nursing.

ROTC Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship: The number of these scholarships may vary and are awarded this scholarship to deserving or potential ROTC cadets. The scholarship is awarded to deserving or potential ROTC cadets. The scholarships are awarded to deserving students and potential cadets or current cadets on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

SAA Leadership Scholarship: Sponsored by the Student Alumni Association of the JSU National Alumni Association, the SAA Leadership Scholarship is open to a current dues-paying member of the SAA who is in the top 20% of point earners for the current academic year. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale is required. In addition to the General JSU Scholarship application, this scholarship required additional information. Salls (Becky Vedel) Annual Scholarship:  Established in honor of George and Carolyn Vedel for a deserving full-time undergraduate student who is a rising senior in the College of Education and Professional Studies and has maintained at least a minimum 2.5 GPA overall and at least a 3.0 minimum GPA in the education courses.   

Salls (Becky Vedel) Endowed Scholarship:  Established in honor of George and Carolyn Vedel for a deserving full-time undergraduate student who is a rising senior in the College of Education and Professional Studies and has maintained at least a minimum 2.5 GPA overall and at least a 3.0 minimum GPA in the education courses.  

Sarrell (Lela Blocker) Nursing Scholarship:  Established by Dr. and Mrs. Warren Sarrell to benefit a deserving nursing student with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, who is a citizen of the United States, who will agree to work in a Calhoun County hospital for one year after receiving degree, who demonstrates good character and has the potential to mentor others in nursing.

Savage (Kay Webb & Perry L., M.D.) Family Scholarship: Established by Dr. Perry L. and Ms. Kay Webb Savage of Birmingham, Alabama for the benefit of deserving students who are children of employees of Alabama Orthopedic & Spine Center. Students from Piedmont, Alabama will have a second preference in the award of this scholarship.

Savage (Lieutenant Colonel Jerry) Memorial ROTC Scholarship: Originally established by Tom Gilbreath, ROTC '67, on behalf of the ROTC Class of 1967, in memory of their classmate, Jerry Savage, ROTC '67, who died while on active military duty. The scholarship has been continued by Jerry's brother LTC (Ret.) Johnny Savage, ROTC '73. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student and potential cadet or a current cadet on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science.

Selig (Ernst S.) Custodial Corrections Officer Scholarship:  Recipient will be selected on the basis of maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the criminal justice corrections concentration, evidence of good character, eligibility, and emotional stability for a career in custodial corrections, and a 350-word essay submitted by the student.

Serviss (Joseph A. and Carolyn H.) Scholarship:  Established by Joe and Carolyn Serviss for a deserving full-time student enrolled in the College of Health Professions and Wellness in nursing. The recipient must be a graduate of an Alabama high school.

Shamblin Family Scholarship: Established through a bequest of Mr. Harold C. Shamblin of Gadsden, Alabama, for the benefit of deserving students from Cherokee, Etowah, or Calhoun Counties who have been accepted to the College of Education and Professional Studies.

Sharp (Lawrence) Annual Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a deserving full-time, undergraduate student. 

Sheppard (Mildred L.) Scholarship: Established by the Board of Directors of the Country Day School, Inc., Montgomery, Alabama, to honor Miss Mildred Louise Sheppard, the school's founder, and only headmaster. Scholarships will benefit those students who commit to major in education and teach K-12 for no less than two years after graduation.

Smith (Carol M. Hause) Scholarship: Established by Christopher and Kerry Smith in memory of Carol M. Hause Smith for the benefit of a graduate student enrolled in the College of Business & Industry. Preference is for a single parent.

Smith (Claudette) Scholarship: Established by Claudette Smith for the benefit of a full-time student who is majoring in secondary education. Preference will be given to a female athlete. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required for this scholarship. The award is renewable provided the recipient meets the qualifications of the scholarship.

Smith (Steve and Sydney) Scholarship: Established in memory of Steve and Sydney Smith for the benefit of full-time undergraduate students who are members of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity and who demonstrate financial need.

Sodexo Scholarship:  Established for a deserving student majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences with Hospitality and Culinary Management concentration. Student must have completed a minimum of 60 hours which includes 15 hours in Family and Consumer Sciences (12 of the 15 must be successfully completed at JSU); GPA - 2.5/4.0 (overall) and 2.85/4.0 (FCS courses); active member of Student Dietetics - Hospitality & Culinary Association OR work experience in a culinary/restaurant establishment(provide work history in the additional information section of the online scholarship application).

Sollohub (Justin) Memorial Scholarship:  Established in memory of Justin Sollohub to promote the education of a full-time undergraduate student. Mus be a member of Delta Chi fraternity or a graduate of Jacksonville (AL) High School that is unconditionally accepted with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Must demonstrate through the FAFSA application that they are non-pell grant eligible. Must include an essay of 200 words or less on the impact o Justin's life or death on the community. 

Sowell Scholarship: Established in honor of Dr. Elizabeth Sledge Sowell, Professor of Family and Consumer Sciences, by Ross Laboratories for the benefit of senior students enrolled in nutrition and foods.

Spain-Hickman Scholarship: Established by Rotary International District #0686 in honor of Mr. Frank E. Spain and Mr. Roy Hickman. Mr. Spain and Mr. Hickman are former Presidents of Rotary International. The scholarship will benefit deserving students participating in JSU's International House Program.

Sparrowhawk Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Master Miles Timothy Sparrowhawk, infant son of Paul and Connie Sparrowhawk of Jacksonville, Alabama. The scholarship will benefit deserving undergraduate members of the Marching Southerners who are enrolled in summer courses.

Stamper (Colonel Archie) Memorial Scholarship: Established by the Retired Officers Association, Northeast Alabama Chapter in memory of Colonel Archie Stamper for the benefit of a deserving full-time undergraduate student.

Stewart (John Morgan) Scholarship: This scholarship is established in memory of John Morgan Stewart and his wife, Vera Stewart, of Piedmont, Alabama. The scholarship will be awarded to a senior class member graduating from Piedmont High School or Spring Garden High School.

Stewart Scholarship: Established in honor of Dr. John R. Stewart, former Director of the JSU International House Program, by his former students and friends for the benefit of a deserving International House student.

Stone McCurdy Scholarship: Established in memory of Kitty and Ernest Stone and Hershellene and Howard McCurdy, parents of Bill Stone, '69 and Sandra (McCurdy) Stone, '69. The scholarship is to be awarded to benefit a student in Family and Consumer Sciences. 

Storey (Jim and Sherry Brady) Scholarship: Established by Jim Storey and Sherry Brady-Storey for the benefit of a student majoring in either accounting or education. Restricted to students who have been accepted into the College of Business and Industry or the College of Education and Professional Studies with preference to students from Etowah, Calhoun, or Talladega counties.

Studdard (Karen Diane) Annual Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a full-time student majoring in Elementary Education. Special consideration will be given to applicants who graduated from a high school in Calhoun County, Alabama. 

Tate (Dewey and Brenda) Scholarship:  Established by Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Tate to promote the education of deserving full-time undergraduate students qualifying for financial assistance, who exceeds academic requirements, who is involved in community service, and is willing to give back to the scholarship upon starting their career.

Tate (Dewey E) ROTC Scholarship: Established to benefit full-time undergraduate students enrolled in ROTC Military Science courses.

Thompson (Robert Samuel "Sam") Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Sam Thompson for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who is a junior or senior enrolled in the College of Arts & Humanities majoring in music or drama. The student must be an Alabama high school graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Trathen (Robert D.) Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of Mr. Robert D. Trathen and in honor of Ms. Charlotte C. Trathen. Mr. Trathen was an instructor in the accounting department. This scholarship, which embodies the theme of Scholarship, Integrity, and Service is for the benefit of junior or senior accounting students.

Veteran Scholarship: An annual scholarship established for full-time undergraduate students who received honorable discharge verified through DD Form 214 Member 4 and maintains a minimum 2.5 GPA. Students must also be enrolled in classroom studies and not distance learning.

Vice (Teresa Cunningham) Scholarship:  Recipient shall be an undergraduate student enrolled in the College of Health Professions and Wellness.

Wai-Man Siu Endowed Scholarship for Outstanding Sociology and Social Work Students: Established to promote the education of deserving full-time, undergraduate students enrolled in the fall/spring academic year. Two students will be selected who are pursuing a degree in sociology. Two additional students will be selected who are pursuing a degree in social work. The students should be entering at least their sophomore year to be awarded the scholarships. 

Waldrep (Charlie D) Scholarship: Established by Mr. Charlie Waldrep for the benefit of a deserving full-time undergraduate student who is an entering freshman from the city of Birmingham, Alabama.

Walters Scholarship: Established in memory of Dr. David L. Walters, longtime director of the Marching Southerners Band, by former members and friends. The scholarship benefits a student whose mother, father, or grandparent marched with the Marching Southerners. Only students that are in their senior year at JSU may apply and must have marched with the Southerners each fall since their freshman year.

Warren Averett, LLC Scholarship: Established for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in the College of Business and Industry who is a graduate of an Alabama high school, an Accounting major, and maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Watters Scholarship: Established by Ms. Virginia Watters for the benefit of a deserving graduate of Fayetteville High School. Preference is given to students enrolling in the College of Education and Professional Studies.

Wells Fargo Annual Scholarship: Established for the benefit of financially disadvantaged or underserved full-time students.

Wells Fargo Endowed Scholarship: Established for the benefit of deserving students enrolled in the College of Business and Industry.

Whitaker (Roger and Debra) Accounting Scholarship: Established by Roger and Debra Whitaker for the benefit of a deserving student majoring in accounting.

Whitestone Scholarship: Established in honor of Ms. Heather Whitestone, a former JSU student, who was selected as Miss America for 1995. The scholarship is to be awarded to a deserving student who qualifies for support services through JSU's Disability Resources with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Whorton Scholarship: Established in honor of Mr. J. P. Whorton, a 1951 graduate of JSU, by friends for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate student who is a graduate of Pisgah High School in Alabama.

Williams (Major Dwayne) Business Scholarship: Established by Ms. Pearl Williams, JSU retiree, in memory of her son, Dwayne, who was killed in the terrorist attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Dwayne was a native of Jacksonville and a University of North Alabama graduate where he received his commission through ROTC in 1982. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time freshman or sophomore undergraduate student enrolled in the College of Business and Industry with a minimum 2.5 GPA or greater who participates in community service or extracurricular activities.

Williams (Major Dwayne) Citizenship Award: Established by Ms. Pearl Williams for an incoming full-time freshman who is a graduate of Jacksonville High School and engaged in community and school activities.

Williams (Major Dwayne) Memorial ROTC Scholarship: Established by Ms. Pearl Williams, JSU retiree, in memory of her son, Dwayne, who was killed in the terrorist attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Dwayne was a native of Jacksonville and a University of North Alabama graduate where he received his commission through ROTC in 1982. The scholarships are awarded to deserving students and potential cadets or current cadets on the path to serve as an Army Officer upon graduation and commissioning. Selection is made by the JSU Professor of Military Science. 

Williams (Ruth F. and Billy R. Williams) Scholarship: Established for the benefit of full-time undergraduate students who are either current employees or retired employees of B.R. Williams Trucking, Inc. and their descendants. Applicants must have substantiation of the relationship on company letterhead submitted with the application. If suitable B.R. Williams' affiliated applicants are not available, then applicants should be an Alabama resident.

Williams-Blair Scholarship: Established by Mrs. Rebecca Williams Blair and Mr. Forrest Randall Blair for the benefit of a deserving full-time undergraduate student.

Willman Music Scholarship: Established by Leon and Dorothy Willman for the benefit of a deserving full-time undergraduate student majoring in music.

Wilson (Barbara T. and Jimmy D.) Scholarship: Established by Ms. Barbara T. Wilson on her retirement from Jacksonville State University. The Scholarship will benefit a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in the Elementary Education or Secondary Health & Physical Education program. Only students who have a 2.5/4.0 grade point average, graduated from an Alabama high school, have been an Alabama resident for a minimum of seven years prior to applying, have completed at least 30 hours of their education at Jacksonville State University, and have U. S. citizenship will be eligible for this award.

Wilson (E.C. and Mattie) Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of E.C. and Mattie Wilson by their family and friends. The scholarship is for the benefit of a full-time undergraduate junior or senior enrolled in the College of Education and Professional Studies who is a graduate of any high school in Etowah County, Alabama with a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0.
  
Wilson (P. O. and Margaret) Achievement Scholarship: Established by P. O. and Margaret Wilson to promote the education of academically-superior, full-time entering freshmen. The scholarship is awarded for a four-year period (from college entrance to graduation) covering full tuition, housing, related books, and required fees. To be awarded Fall and Spring only.

Woodrow Scholarship: Established in honor of Ms. Ann Jackson Woodrow, a 1977 graduate of JSU's College of Health Professions and Wellness. The scholarship will benefit deserving students admitted to the nursing program.

Woodruff (Dr. Royce Bernard) Annual Scholarship: Established by Dr. Royce Woodruff for the benefit of a deserving doctoral student enrolled in the Doctor of Science in Emergency Management program. 

Yates (Melvin) Memorial Scholarship:  Established by Mr. Yates' wife, Mrs. Elizabeth "Beth" Yates estate. This general scholarship is for a deserving full-time student.

Yocum (Dr. Virginia) Scholarship: Established in honor of Dr. Virginia Yocum to promote the education of a full-time student enrolled in the Department of Family and Consumer Science who has achieved junior, senior, or graduate status and has a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Young Scholarship: Established in tribute to Ms. Ruth L. and Mr. Millard V. Young, Sr., for the benefit of a deserving student from Piedmont, Alabama. The Millard V. Young, Sr. family and the Martha Young Norton family established the scholarship.

Zeigler, Bloise and Bernice Scholarship: Established by the children of Bloise and Bernice Zeigler in memory of their parents and in support of higher education. Applicants must be graduates of a high school in Talladega County, Alabama, and be junior or senior full-time undergraduates. Preference is given to graduates of Sylacauga High School.
