Campus Community Emergency Response Team

AmeriCorps CERT Training

Jacksonville, AL- The Department of Emergency Management and JSU’s Campus Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) instructors hosted a two-day training event with sixteen AmeriCorps volunteers from the Impact Alabama AmeriCorps Program and the Calhoun County AmeriCorps Initiative.

The training took place on April 21and 22, 2014. The training consisted of eight units to certify these AmeriCorps volunteers to be CERT members. Topics in the training program include disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations and urban search and rescue. A good time was had by all.
