Jacksonville State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Master of Science in Nursing degree through the STEP (RN-BSN-MSN) Program, which is also accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Jacksonville State University is excited to announce this new RN-BSN-MSN option. In this program, students will be allowed to register for three (3) hours of Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) level coursework while completing requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The program is individualized to meet student needs and career goals. The faculty have developed a quality, flexible, cost effective, and convenient means for registered nurses to obtain the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Strategic Teaching for Enhanced Professional Preparation (STEP) is designed to enable students to achieve their educational goals while fulfilling their personal and occupational responsibilities.

The RN-BSN-MSN option allows students to begin their graduate studies while earning the BSN degree. At the time the RN is completing the baccalaureate program of study (STEP), course work in the master's program can also be completed. By enrolling in the RN-BSN-MSN Option, an RN can earn both a BSN and MSN with 3 fewer total hours than by completing the BSN and MSN programs separately. The MSN degree can open the door to many new and exciting opportunities in a nursing career.

Hours to Complete: 65 hours - which includes 32 hours for the BSN and 33 hours for the MSN; students are allowed to take 3 hours towards the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) while completing requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
