Vinson Houston is the Vice President of Information Technology at Jacksonville State University and is responsible for information technology strategy, policies, and services that support the University’s strategic plan and mission of teaching and learning. Mr. Houston holds an MBA and Bachelor of Arts from Jacksonville State University. With over 18 years of experience in information technology, Mr. Houston has served as technology sales consultant, Director of Telecommunications, Vice-President of Information Technology, and Chief Information Officer.
He is a founding member of the Alabama Public Sector CIO Council, and currently serves on the board of directors for the Alabama Supercomputer Authority. Prior to coming to Jacksonville State University, he worked several years for a publicly traded telecommunications company.
