Justice and Civil Rights Initiative to Sponsor Police and Citizens Relations Forum on August 25

Justice & Civil Rights Initiative President & Founder Ed Moore III will host an open forum on ways to develop healthy relationships between police officers and members of the community on August 25, 2014 at 6:15 P.M. The forum will take place inside the 11th floor conference center of the Houston Cole Library in Jacksonville.

This event will be free and open to the general public.

The speakers will cover a number of issues that include response times to emergency calls, how departments can heal from the killing of an officer, the rights of a police officer, governmental impact on police resources and finances, recovering from nationwide, police-related controversies, citizens' perceptions of law enforcement during high profile criminal investigations, improving the community's understanding of an officer's daily tasks, how citizens can respond to police officers positively and the rights of a citizen during an arrest or interrogation.
