Dietetics program receives reaffirmation of ACEND accreditation

The Dietetics Program, part of the department of Family and Consumer Sciences, has received its reaffirmation letter awarding full accreditation from ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics). ACEND is a governing board recognized by the United States Department of Education in overseeing education standards for students studying to be registered dieticians or dietetic technicians.

“As the dean of the College of Education & Professional Studies, I am proud of the reaffirmation of our dietetics program in the department of Family & Consumer Sciences,” says Dr. John B. Hammett. “Maintaining an endorsement from an accrediting agency such as the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics over the past 10 years speaks to the quality and rigor of the program; and is an indicator to employers that our graduates are well prepared. Congratulations to the FCS faculty and staff for their success as leaders in the field of dietetics.”
