Campus Tours

Campus View from Library

Visiting campus is the best way to decide if JSU will be your future home. Tours are given Monday-Friday by appointment and are not available on university holidays or breaks*. One visit and you'll just know that JSU is the right choice for you!

*Visit the Academic Calendar for holidays and breaks

While Jacksonville State was recently hit by an EF-3 tornado, the campus has already been cleaned up and made safe for students and visitors to return. Campus tours resumed on April 9th and the Summer and Fall semesters will continue as planned. Come visit our beautiful campus and see why you should call JSU home!

What to Expect

An information session will begin each visit and cover the enrollment process of admission, student financial services, housing and student life. With a JSU tour guide, you will make campus stops including a visit to a residence hall, the student commons building and wellness center. Classroom or instructor appointments are available upon request.*

*Subject to availability; must call ahead to schedule

Weekday Visits

JSU is nicknamed the “Gem of the Hills” for a reason. The best way to learn why is to come on a weekday and visit. There are many benefits to visiting us on a weekday, such as:

  • You’ll receive smiles and waves from our students on the “Friendliest Campus in the South,” as they head to their classes.
  • You can check out our assortment of dining facilities and see why the Jack Hopper Dining hall is always busy.
  • Our enrollment offices (Admissions, Financial Aid, and Scholarships) are open, so you can come in and ask your questions in person.
  • Our buildings are open so you can go into an actual classroom, academic building, or other facility to see where you will spend the majority of your time at Jacksonville State University.

Weekend Visits

For the reasons above, we would prefer for our prospective students to visit us on a weekday. Please understand that our academic buildings and campus offices (Including Admissions, Financial Aid, and Scholarships) are not open on Saturdays. We also understand that visiting on a weekday might be difficult for some families. To inquire about opportunities for Saturday visits, please contact the Visitor Center.
