Memo

To: Administrators, Faculty and Staff
From: Office of Human Resources
Re: Annual Preventing Sexual Harassment Training
Date: February 27, 2009

It is time for the annual training for prevention of sexual harassment. The University is committed to maintaining an environment free from all forms of sexual harassment, sexual intimidation, and exploitation. The policy will be referred to in the training program. You may view and/or print the University's full prevention policy at: http://www.jsu.edu/hr/sexualharassment.html.

The training program is available online and may be taken at a time that fits your schedule. It may be taken all in one session or you may bookmark and return at a later time. To access the training, go to the Office of Human Resources web site at http://www.jsu.edu/hr/ and select Preventing Sexual Harassment Training from the right hand side of the page. This annual training must be completed by April 30, 2009.

Once you complete the course with a passing score, you will be asked to enter your name and select your division, and month and day of birth so that we can identify you and document your successful completion. Be sure to list your name as it appears on your payroll records so that you may receive credit. After this is entered, you will be able to print the Certificate of Completion for your records. The system will notify the Office of Human Resources of your successful completion so that your employment file may be documented.

Prior Users

New this year is a Refresher Course available to anyone taking the full course in the prior year. This abbreviated version provides a review prior to the test or if you feel confident, you may go straight to the mastery test. The review and test may be completed in less than an hour. The Refresher Course applies to all status: Faculty, Supervisory, Non-supervisory, or Student. You will indicate your status at the end of the program when you identify yourself.

First Time Users

If you are a First Time User of this program, you may select from a category applicable to your status on campus: Faculty, Supervisory, Non-supervisory, or Student. You will need to allow up to two hours for the full training program.

Note to New Hires

If you are new to the University since August 25, 2008 and have successfully completed the training since coming to JSU, you have satisfied your obligation for this fiscal year.
