Congress Discusses Student-loan Changes
Millions of Americans each year borrow to finance a college degree. Much of that borrowing is
subsidized or directly provided by the federal government. Now, as both houses of Congress strive to reduce the budget deficit
while delivering tax cuts to constituents, the federal programs that make college possible for many are under pressure.
