Faculty Scholar Lecture on Internet Resources: Blogs, Podcasts and Other Classroom Oddities

Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society, invites you to join us for our annual Faculty Scholar Lecture to be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2007. Dr. Andrea Porter, a member of the English Department, will speak on "Blogs, Podcasts, and Other Classroom Oddities."

According to Dr. Porter, "In recent years, weblogs (or blogs as they are popularly known) have started to change the way we think about the media, writing, and what is considered public and private domain."

In her presentation, an introduction to blogging, she will emphasize ways educators can incorporate blogs and other Internet resources into the classroom. The session will be hands-on, but because it is a session for beginners, no advanced computer knowledge is needed.

Not only will she provide an introduction to blogging, but she will also discuss podcasts, radio shows, and other resources for educators available through the Internet.

Please join the members of Sigma Tau Delta for this important event.
