Delta Chi honors Jacksonville State Chapter at International Convention

LAS VEGAS, NV – At the 56th International Convention held July 30 through August 3, 2008, over 400 Delta Chi members gathered to celebrate fraternal accomplishments over the previous year.

The Fraternity’s awards banquet was held on Wednesday evening. Each year, Chapters, Alumni, and Greek Professionals are honored for their accomplishments and dedication to Greek Life.

The Certificate of Achievement is awarded to chapters and colonies that show noted improvement in overall operations and performance over the previous academic year. The Headquarters staff selects only a handful of recipients for this award based on the collection of narratives and chapter accomplishments submitted each spring. This year, the Jacksonville State Chapter was awarded the Certificate of Achievement.

In addition to the Certificate of Achievement, the Jacksonville State Chapter received the following awards:

Outstanding Campus Leadership

Outstanding Intramural Sports Program

"Delta Chi is proud to recognize the Jacksonville State Chapter for its excellent work on campus,” commented Steve Bossart, “AA”. “Delta Chi, among other things, stands for developing character and assisting in the acquisition of a sound education.  These awards are just a small indication of how the Jacksonville State Chapter is pursuing that mission on a daily basis."

The Jacksonville State Chapter of Delta Chi has been on campus since 1968 and recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary at JSU.  Delta Chi was the first recognized fraternity at Jacksonville State University.

Delta Chi was founded at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY on October 13, 1890. Delta Chi has over 96,000 initiates and over 4,000 current undergraduate members at 127 chapters and colonies.
