JSU, UAB Will Co-Host
Southeastern Biologists Meeting

The University of Alabama at Birmingham and Jacksonville State University will co-host the 70th Annual Meeting of the Association of Southeastern Biologists (ASB). The meeting will be held April 1-4 at the Sheraton Birmingham and the Birmingham-Jefferson County Convention Center (BJCC).

This event brings together approximately 800 biologists from across the southeastern United States, including members of Beta Beta Beta, the national honor society for undergraduate students in biology. The meeting features a distinguished plenary speaker, special symposia, field trips, and oral and poster presentations on biological research projects conducted in the southeast.

The highlight of this year's meeting is a symposium on Friday afternoon, April 3, at 1:30 p.m honoring the bicentennial of the birth of Charles Darwin, a driving force for modern biological concepts. Featured speakers include Alabama native Dr. E.O. Wilson, the world's eminent authority on biodiversity.

This special event will be made available to the general public for an admission fee of $40. Those interested in attending this symposium can purchase admission tickets on-site at the ASB registration desk located on the third floor of the East Meeting Room area of the BJCC. The parking deck of the nearby Sheraton Birmingham offers convenient parking. Individuals interested in registering and attending the entire ASB meeting should contact Dr. Ken Marion, UAB, or Dr. George Cline, JSU.
