Joins the March of Dimes as Community Director
Alabama Chapter/North-Central Division

Ashley Wheeler, a 2004 graduate of Jacksonville State University, has accepted the position of Community Director for the March of Dimes, Alabama Chapter / North-Central Division, effective October 1, 2007. Wheeler graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and a concentration in Public Relations. 

Ms. Wheeler was president of the Public Relations Organization (PRO) at Jacksonville State University from 2003-2004. She completed her college PR internship with Silver Sands Factory Stores in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

Ms. Wheeler will be in charge of two major Walk fundraising efforts, including the "Tuscaloosa County March for Babies" and the "Calhoun County March for Babies" events in April 2008. She will also be in charge of the event planning and fundraising of two special events, including the "Alabama Citizen of the Year" event for the greater Birmingham area, as well as the "Tuscaloosa Real Estate Gala," both to be held in the fall of 2008. 

The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
