JSU Peer Educators Receive
National Affiliate of the Year Award

JSU Peer Educators pose for a group photo after being named the National Affiliate of the Year at this year's national convention of Peer Educators.

Congratulations, JSU Peer Educators, on winning National Award!

The JSU Peer Educators have been a strong program for many years, as evidenced by their winning Area 8 Program of the Year for 5 years in a row.  Area 8 includes universities in Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.

However, this year at the National Conference, on November 8-11, JSU was nominated and received the National Affiliate of the Year award. Among those universities nominated were Mississippi College for Women, Notre Dame University, Tampa University, College of Charlton, among others.

We are very proud of JSU for winning this national recognition as they continue to be a model program for other universities across the Southeast as well as the nation.   Programs Peer Educators are involved in include Alcohol Awareness Week, Safe Spring Break, as well as class presentations they conduct on campus and in local high schools year round.

If you see a Peer Educator, please extend your congratulations for this most prestigious national award recently bestowed upon these highly esteemed members of this university organization.

The 2007-2008 JSU Peer Educators are:  Molly Benefield, Leah Byars, Kristina Cothran, Aquilla Davis, Ashley Gaither, Jasmine George, Adrienne Harris, Meredith Harvey, Christi Jackson, Alina Lackey, Kassi McKenzie, Latoya Meikle, Lindsey Minton, Amanda Mowery, Keena Perkins, Sharonica Neeley, Jessica Peoples, D’Angelo, Smith, Chris Stokes, Spencer Tinsley, Davis Varner, Terrence Windham, and Shevon Young.   The advisors are Rickey Naugher, Todd Prater, Adam Green and Linda Shelton.
