Wins "Outstanding Paper" Award
Dr. Jennifer Gross, Jacksonville State University Associate Professor of History, presented a paper titled “Widows in Confederate Fiction: ‘The Lives of the Men Would be Changed Comparatively Little’” at a Symposium on the 19th Century Press, the Civil War, and Free Expression in Chattanooga held November 10, 2007. Dr. Gross received the "Outstanding Paper" award for her presentation. This paper is part of Dr. Gross's larger research on Confederate Widowhood in the Postbellum South.
