National Distance Learning Week
Schedule of Events

Join the Office of Distance Education as we celebrate National Distance Learning Week, November 12-16.

 

On Monday, November 12, Respondus Test Creation Software Training will be held from 10:00-11:30 a.m. in Room 174 Self Hall.  If you wish to attend this training, please contact Misty Cobb (mcobb@jsu.edu) to register.  The Office of Distance Education will also brief the Faculty Senate on distance education and educational technology here at JSU at 3:15 p.m. in the Houston Cole Library.

 

Tuesday, November 13 will focus on podcasting beginning with a Tegrity presentation at 10:00 a.m.  This will be followed by Sara Brenizer from Gadsden State Community College who will discuss best practice uses of Tegrity at 11:00 a.m.  At 1:30 p.m., Mark Camp will present podcasting tools currently on campus.  All presentations this day will be in Room 208 Self Hall.  You do not need to register for these presentations in order to attend.

 

On Wednesday, November 14 join us for a presentation on ePortaro’s Folio tool at 10:00 a.m. in Room 208 Self Hall.  Registration for this presentation is not required.  Misty Cobb will also be doing a presentation for the Secondary Education faculty on SafeAssign from 2:30-3:00 p.m.

 

Thursday, November 15 will start with a Respondus Test Creation Software Training session at 9:15 a.m. and end with a 2:30 p.m. session.  Both of these sessions are expected to last an hour to an hour and a half and will be held in Room 174 Self Hall.  Please register with Misty Cobb if you wish to attend.  Mrs. Cobb will also do software demonstrations of Respondus LockDown Browser, Respondus LE, Respondus 3.5 and Respondus StudyMate at 10:45 a.m.  Distance Education New Faculty Orientation is scheduled at 3:00 p.m. in the Gold Room, Bibb Graves.
