Photo shows progress of construction on JSU’s Little River Canyon Center.

On Saturday, September 29th, the nation will celebrate public lands from coast to coast. Closer to home and near Fort Payne, Alabama, Jacksonville State University will coordinate with the National Park Service to celebrate the Little River Canyon National Preserve. (See related article: JSU Announces Plans for Public Lands Day Saturday - Sep. 29).

Throughout the 18 months of construction, periodic trips and tours of the site will be arranged for the public, JSU faculty, staff and students. Tours of the site are being offered during the Public Lands Day celebration on Saturday, September 29, 2007. If you are interested in participating in this program, please contact the Environmental Policy and Information Center at 256-782-8010 to be included when such events occur.
