Re:      Supplemental Group Life Insurance Premium Example

This email is a reminder that our new group life carrier is offering an open enrollment period for JSU employees.  Many of you may have already purchased supplemental life insurance through payroll deduction, but for those who haven’t this will be an opportunity for you to do so.  During this open enrollment period you will be able to purchase coverage or increase your existing coverage without answering health questions or taking an exam.

Employees are allowed to select 1x, 2x, or 3x their salary up to $300,000 with no health questions.  See example below:

Annual Salary:        $42,500
Round up to:          $43,000
1x salary $43,000    x $0.25/1000 = $10.75 per month
2 x salary $86,000    x $0.25/1000 = $21.50 per month
3 x salary $129,000 x $0.25/1000 = $32.25 per month
