Penn Wilson Receives
U.S. Army Chemical Corps
DMC Award


Penn Wilson

Penn Wilson, was recently named as a Distinguished Member of the U.S. Army Chemical Corps. This award is extended to individuals who have given a lifetime of service to the Corps and continue to provide support to its primary mission, history, and traditions.  The award was presented to Mr. Wilson by Brigadier General Tom Spoehr, Commandant, U.S. Army Chemical School on June 27, 2007, during Chemical Week activities at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Mr. Wilson served in combat with the Chemical Corps during the Vietnam era receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and other decorations.  He retired from the Army as a Sergeant Major, with twenty years of service, in 1975.   He was employed in combat developments and other positions at the U.S. Army Chemical School, in military or civilian capacity, for more than twenty- seven years.

Penn is employed with the Center for Economic Development and Business Research at Jacksonville State University, and serves as Treasurer of the McClellan Chapter of the Chemical Corps Regimental Association.

He resides in Jacksonville with his wife, Quinn.
