Time to Apply for JSU Sorority
Formal Recruitment Process (RUSH)

SORORITY RUSH WEEK
August 24-28, 2007

On August 24, 2007, campus might have a different ring to it! The JSU Panhellenic sororities will begin the Formal Recruitment process. From August 24th to August 28th, over 100 women will be visiting five sororities to find the right place for them.

The five sororities participating in Formal Recruitment are Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Zeta, Phi Mu, and Zeta Tau Alpha. These chapters will utilize their chapter rooms in the basement of Curtiss Hall. When passing the residence hall, you may hear singing, clapping, and cheering; each sorority will be demonstrating their own chapter spirit.

Each day of Recruitment has a different theme, including Values Day, Philanthropy Day, Theme Day, and Preference Day. The week concludes with Bid Day activities on Tuesday, August 28th. Family and friends are invited to the Bid Day revealing on the JSU Quad.

While preparing for Recruitment is a year-long process, most sororities utilize Formal Recruitment as the time to bring in the majority of their newest members. All women that join an organization will complete a six- to eight-week new member period in which they will learn about the history and heritage of their chapter. Upon completion, the women will initiate into the sororities and begin their life-long membership.

If you know any women still interested in registering for recruitment, please inform them to visit the Fraternity and Sorority Life Web site: greeks.jsu.edu.

Applications may be submitted no later than Friday, August 24, 2007. Please inform these women that the fee for participating in recruitment is $40 until August 1, 2007, which it then increases to $50. Also there are limited spots left for Formal Recruitment due to such great interest, so the later the women wait the greater the possibility that she will not be able to participate in recruitment, or ultimately join one of our five sororities.
