The Food Guys: Food May be Giving You
Headaches and Other Problems

According to Dr. David Buchholz, associate professor of neurology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and author of Heal Your Headache (Workman, 2002), certain chemicals in foods will trigger a headache response in some individuals. Suspected foods include cheese, deli meats, chocolate, nuts and bananas. Further, some food additives, caffeinated beverages, monosodium glutamate (MSG) and alcohol (especially red wine) have been added to the list of headache-causing agents.
