JSU Volleyball Game Tonight

The Jacksonville State University volleyball team will look to remain unbeaten in the Ohio Valley Conference as it concludes the 2006 regular season this weekend with a two-match homestand that will begin with a visit from Eastern Illinois on Friday night.

The Gamecocks (20-4, 14-0 OVC) will host the Panthers at 7 p.m. on Friday in a match that will be preceded by a ceremony honoring JSU’s four seniors, before finishing the regular season with a 2 p.m. match with Southeast Missouri on Saturday. Admission is free for all fans.

JSU is looking to become just the seventh team in OVC history and the first since 2000 to go through the conference schedule without a loss, but they have gotten this far in impressive fashion. The Gamecocks, who are riding a school-record 15-match winning streak, have not lost a game in league play thus far, winning all 14 matches by sweeping their foes, 3-0. Overall, they have won 45 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the nation.
