Funeral Services for Kay Roberson Oct. 26
Funeral services for Mary Katherine Barker Roberson, 82, of Jacksonville will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville with Rev. Fred Taylor and Rev. Dr. John Holloway officiating. Burial will be in the Jacksonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service. K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center will be in charge of service.

Mrs. Roberson died at the Medical Center in Anniston. She is survived by her two sons: Thomas V. Roberson and his wife Debora of Dover, DE and Jeffrey W. Roberson of Garland, TX, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coach "Tom" Roberson who served as the JSU basketball coach for many years.

Mrs. Roberson was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville for 49 years. She served as the church clerk for more than 27 years and taught Sunday School for 48 years. From 1993-1995, she served as President of Beta State Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. In 1999, she was awarded the Book of Golden Deeds by the Jacksonville Exchange Club. Mrs. Roberson retired in 1984 from Jacksonville State University where she taught in the English department for 24 years.
