Dr. Prudlo Featured Speaker at Academe Meeting

Donald Prudlo, Assistant Professor of History, will be the program presenter at this month's meeting of Academe, on Wednesday, October 25, at 3:15 p.m., in the 10th floor classroom of Houston Cole Library. Dr. Prudlo will share information from his research on the migration of martyrs' cults, especially in relation to St. Thomas Becket of England and St. Peter, of Verona, Italy.

His Power Point presentation will illustrate elements of Iceland's culture and history, where he and other scholars involved in research on this topic convened this past summer for an international conference in Holar, Iceland, on Saints and Saints' Cults. Dr. Prudlo's study of St. Thomas and St. Peter and the cults surrounding them led him into further study of miracle stories, which became a resource for him in his research.

Please join us on Wednesday for Dr. Prudlo's presentation as he takes us to Iceland and into times past. He will share the progress of the research, address some of the technological endeavors of the group, and give us insights into Iceland's history.
