SAAC Collecting Items to Send to Children in Iraq

Join the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as they collect items to send to children in Iraq!

JSU Strength and Conditioning Coach Scott Austin is stationed in Iraq working with the Marine Corps Civil Affairs Group. He is located in an undisclosed area helping to rebuild the infrastructure of the country and to build a stable environment for children to grow up in.

The SAAC is collecting the following items to send school-aged children in the town that Coach Austin is helping to rebuild:

  • School Supplies (pens, paper, crayons, scissors, etc.)

  • Soccer Balls

  • Personal hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, brushes, etc.)

  • Jackets (child thru adult sizes)

  • Blankets (baby and regular sizes)

  • Toys (stuffed animals, dolls, etc.)
These items may be placed in boxes around campus in the following locations:

  • Kennamer Hall (Weight Room and Room #208)
  • Training Rooms (Field house and Pete Mathews Coliseum)
  • 3rd Floor TMB –ACE Center
  • Jack Hopper Dining Hall
  • Bibb Graves Hall (Office of Academic Affairs-Room #201)
  • Merrill Building (Lobby)
Items will also be collected at JSU Athletic Events throughout the month of October!!!
