Take A Friend or Loved One to the Health Fair Sept. 19

 Counseling and Career Services and the JSU Peer Educators are sponsoring a project called Take a Friend/Loved One to Health Fair on Tuesday, September 19, in Theron Montgomery Building (TMB) Auditorium, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

 

This annual event is linked to the national "Take a Loved One to the Doctor's Day." Various agencies countywide are participating in outreach project for all Calhoun County residents. The West Anniston Foundation is providing free diabetes checks and obesity screening. Considering this event as one of its "For Your Life!" outreach projects, the foundation is giving all participants a free t-shirt.

 

The Health Services Center, Hobson City, and AIM of Birmingham are providing free HIV/AIDS and syphilis testing. The Calhoun County Mental Health Center is providing free depression screening. The Calhoun County Health Department will provide free blood pressure checks. Other participants include the JSU Student Health Center, the Calhoun County Extension Service, NAMI Jacksonville, Sarrell Regional Dental Center, Daybreak Crisis Center, Jacksonville Hospital, and JSU Residence Hall Association. Refreshments will be provided by JSU Housing and Residence Life.
