Call for Promotion and Tenure Applications
Eligible faculty are invited to submit portfolios and documentation of their accomplishments for promotion and/or tenure consideration. Guidelines for the portfolio and the schedule for the 2006-07 promotion and tenure process are on line at http://www.jsu.edu/depart/avpasa/PromotionTenure/ptmemo.htm.

The criteria is found in the 2003 Faculty Handbook, which is also available on-line at the Academic Affairs homepage. The criteria in the Handbook represent minimum standards for promotion and/or tenure. Information about additional criteria used by colleges and/or departments is available from the deans and department heads. The tenure policy establishes the ranks of assistant professor, associate professor, and professor as tenure-track positions. The rank of instructor, visiting faculty, adjunct faculty, and temporary faculty appointments are ranks which are not eligible for tenure.
