Web Editor Upgrade Makes PRISM Reporting Easier

Just in time for annual reporting, JSU’s PRISM system has become more user-friendly.

The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) last week upgraded the web editor that allows Word document text to be copied and pasted into PRISM without loss of formatting. Not only does this upgrade ensure that tables and headings created by units will look the same in published reports as they did at creation, it will reduce extra spaces, cut-off text and other issues caused by incompatible formats.  Users who copy and paste text from a portrait format with 1 inch margins in Word should experience no problems with their report format in PRISM (Remember to first split up any tables or graphs that require a landscape or larger format in Word).

PRISM users will see very little difference in the initial appearance of the web editor; however, when the user attempts to paste the data, a pop-up box will appear that guides the user through the process. Users should disable their browser's pop-up blocker before attempting to paste data using the new web editor.

Complete directions for using the new web editor have been posted on OIRA’s website at http://ir.jsu.edu/prism/WebEditor.htm.  If you have any questions, please contact OIRA at 8144.
