No Dough for Dome

About that 2007 season opener with Georgia Southern in the Georgia Dome: if ESPN analyst Lee Corso was in the conversation today, he might just say, “Not so fast, my friend.”

As much as Jacksonville State officials want it to happen, and their Georgia Southern counterparts think it's a great setup, a big hurdle still exists that could keep it from happening.

The Gamecocks have to get Chattanooga to come to JSU a week later than originally scheduled. The problem the Mocs have with that is it will fill an open date on their schedule prior to their game with Georgia Southern.

“(Mocs' AD Rick) Hart holds the key to it,” JSU athletic director Jim Fuller said. “If they have an open date and we have an open date, it seems like they would accommodate that, but …”
