JSU Trustees Told More Outside Funds Available
to Build Musical Arts Center

Joe Serviss told the Jacksonville State University board of trustees more outside funding is available if they build the musical arts center at the university's McClellan campus. The other option is to construct the center on the Jacksonville campus, which would scale the project back due to lack of space. The measure was not ready for a vote at Monday's meeting. The university needs to raise $7.5 million for the $40 million project. Thus far, Serviss said, it's raised about $1.65 million. When completed, the facility will have a 1,200- to 1,400-seat concert hall.
