JSU GO! Team 2006-2007

The Jacksonville State University GO! Team, which stands for Gamecock Orientation recently participated in a Community Service Project as part of their preparation efforts for this summer’s orientation schedule. The team was able to work with three different organizations in Calhoun County to help those in need in our area.

The team worked with the East Central Alabama Cerebral Palsy Center, 2nd Chance, and The Arc of Calhoun County. While working with these organizations they were able to help by doing such things as yard work, painting, moving office furniture, and helping special needs children while they enjoyed their time at camp.

The GO! Team consists of GO! Leaders and GO! Advisors from around the university campus. GO! Leaders are chosen through a three phase interview process and serve as peer mentors to the incoming freshmen.

Each year there are two students selected from the previous summer to serve as coordinators for the team and those two students are Dana Roberts from Douglasville, GA, and Matt Morgan from Weaver, AL.
