James Bennett Recognized as a Signature Sinfonian

James Bennett is one of seven recipients awarded the Signature Sinfonian which recognizes excellence in professional or service work.

Evansville, Indiana, June 15, 2006: Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the oldest and largest music fraternity for men, recognized James Bennett of Birmingham, AL as a Signature Sinfonian. The Signature Sinfonian award recognizes alumni members who have achieved a high standard of accomplishment in their field or profession, thereby bring honor to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Mr. Bennett, Commissioner of the Department of Labor, is one of seven members in this first class of recipients. All award recipients will be announced at the 2006 National Convention Gala Banquet on Thursday, July 20, 2006 in Cleveland, Ohio at the Crowne Plaza City Centre.

Daniel Krueger, Director of Alumni Affairs, stated, "While Phi Mu Alpha is a music fraternity, we have members whose professional accomplishments continue within and beyond the field of music. The Signature Sinfonian award recognizes these members for a lifetime of excellence. It is truly an honor to have Brother Bennett represent the ideals of our Fraternity through his personal and professional accomplishments."
