Cascades, Early Morning

Pictured above, tail pools below Shaile Falls on Tuesday morning in the Oregon Cascades. Photographer Mike VanDeWalker captured the scene in early morning before the sun hit the water. It was 38º. Below, sunlight filters through an old growth mixed fir and cedar forest. The branches with all the moss are vine maple. Leaves on them will be bright red soon.
