Dr. Frank Romano, biology department head, photographed this scene from a chairlift at Castelrotto, in the Dolomites (Italian Alps), last year. "Going up, I saw this monolith to our right with a wonderful little farmhouse right out of The Sound of Music. I took a series of pictures on the way down when the lift was in the perfect position."
