Leaky Roofs Create Drama at JSU

Breaking a leg on stage at JSU’s Ernest Stone Performing Arts Center is a real possibility. The center’s roof is so leaky that rainwater sometimes falls on performances. Stephenson Hall, the Pete Mathews Coliseum, and the Campus Child Care Center also have leaky roofs, the result of a renovation two years ago according to a lawsuit Jacksonville State University has filed against Standard Roofing of Montgomery. The suit alleges that the company did not do a workmanlike job replacing the roofs, and has failed to remove the leaks, mold and mildew that still plague the buildings. The university is asking for $4 million. See story at The Anniston Star's website: www.annistonstar.com.
