Jazz I Standards Concert Dec. 2
Jazz I, the premier JSU jazz ensemble, will present a concert of jazz standards on Friday, 2 December 2005 at 7 p.m. in the Mason Hall Performance Center on campus. This continues a weeklong series of jazz concerts that have included performances by three JSU jazz combos on Tuesday and a concert by Jazz II and Jazz III ensembles on Wednesday.

Jazz I, under the direction of Dr. Chip Crotts, received an invitation to appear at the Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival during Spring 2004. This is the oldest and most prestigious collegiate jazz festival in the country. Jazz I appears regularly on campus and in guest appearances around the state. Their latest CD, recorded in the spring, is available through Dr. Crotts.

This performance is one of many during the academic year featuring the various ensembles, students and faculty of the David L. Walters Department of Music. “Support live jazz in Alabama.” This performance is free and the public in cordially invited.
