Latham Named to Head Jax State Nursing School
Latham takes the helm at a time when the profession is seeing a shortage in both the number of nurses and the number of professors to train new nurses. JSU has addressed the shortages by offering master’s degrees and some bachelor’s degrees over the Internet, allowing professors to reach more students. The online classes also allow students to continue working in health care while they study, scheduling the classes around their work hours, Latham said.
