Christmas Comes in Shoe Boxes

Two programs — one run by a nationally known evangelist and the other by a retired NASA engineer — are collecting shoe boxes full of gifts for children in impoverished countries. “We know this program helps,” said George Lauderbaugh, a history professor at Jacksonville State University. Lauderbaugh, along with other professors and students in JSU’s history club and honor society, are collecting boxes of gifts to be delivered to children in Guatemala.
